Hello~ I was wondering if we could get some Vox x daughter headcanons (platonically ofc, just some normal protective parent stuff) just for fun, if not that's okay I'm just curious, hope you have a wonderful day
Vox x Daughter! Reader | Headcannons

Warnings ⚠️: Cussing, very short
Sinners couldn’t have children with other sinners once they dropped down to Hell, how Vox knocked someone up, no one knows.
The mother was out of the picture, supposedly wanting nothing to do with Hell or the Vees, so he’s a single dad.
Running a tech empire and raising a daughter is NOT an easy task.
He definitely has one of those baby carriers that look like a backpack that goes over your chest.
When you’d be sleeping against his chest, he’d tilt his monitor down and give you soft kisses on your little head.
I’d imagine your appearance wouldn’t be a whole tv, but more like an android.
Vox had to teach you how to probably take care of your hardware and not fry up your circuits. Easier said than done, when he woke up in Hell, he was already an adult who knew about technology from his life, not a mere child.
When you became school-aged, he’d teach you what you need to know. Political science, computer science, coding, programming-
Had to begrudgingly change his curriculum, he stole some homeschool plan off of the internet on Earth. He was told by Vel that he was a dumbass and that you’d turn out dumber than him if he couldn’t teach you properly.
Beware if you get an attitude with him, he’ll get a worse one. You can’t out-petty and pettiest being in Hell.
Loves you with all of his heart. He doesn’t care who it is, if anyone hurt you, he’d decapitate them on live tv. (No he definitely didn’t steal that idea from Alastor’s screams on his broadcast.)
He was very wary when you became friends with the Princess
Once he went with you to check out his “hotel”. He found out the Radio Demon resided there as well.
Before Vox blew up the hotel, Lucifer stopped him. The two heavily bonded over being single dads and their hatred for the red deer.
Will tell you regularly he loves you, and would uproot Heaven, Hell, and Earth if you just said pretty please.

Timeline for Sparky the robot!

She technically borrows lore from two other steampunk bands so shoutout to you Mechanisms and The Cog is Dead fans
1650 BCE- A pirate airship flies out of a red portal and crashes in Egypt. The pilot, a woman who is not from this time, nor was she from the dimension the ship sailed in from crawls out of the wreckage. Sunset Val was the captain and she went down with the ship, but she did not die. Not yet. She follows a red glow to a cave, past the blue and green crystals to a deeper chamber where she finally died.
1895 CE- a vampire scientist from space named Doctor Carmilla finds the bones that have been exposed to Red Matter for so long and, still in the cave, attempts to build a mechanical body around the skeleton and powered by the red matter energy in her bones, but didn’t have the technique figured out completely yet. The prototype’s clockwork heart was crafted well, and its mechanical lungs worked just as planned. But the power to its central processor was not strong enough, so while its chassis and skeleton could repair itself, it could barely think, and it took a long time to move
1897- tremors from giant clockwork elephants and a very big steam powered giraffe cause a cave in to the section of the cave the prototype resides in. Doctor Carmilla escapes but the automaton is trapped inside
1924 April 24th- while looking for a new matter type to experiment with, Peter Walter II finds the prototype left in the cave and brings it home to fix it up and repurpose her for a babysitter for his son, Mark Ray Walter, but avoids completely deleting her original programming through the use of a code switch. In one mode, M mode, she retains her original chaotic space pirate programming, and in the other, W, she retains her memories and opinions of people, but has the objective of taking care of the Walter children and manor and a more motherly personality
1935- While in M mode, Sparky almost kills someone. It is covered up and the family decides to keep her in W mode for a while, fitting her with a cover for it so it doesn’t accidentally get flipped
1941- knowing that Sparky doesn’t like being left behind in the manor while her siblings are fighting WW II, the Walters send Sparky to a local summer camp to be a councilor
1942- A version of Sparky from the future arrives because she didn’t want to miss Peter Walter IV’s fifth birthday. She stays for a bit longer and has some strange and tragic stories from space but doesn’t talk much about how she encountered those stories as she wants to avoid “spoilers”
1947- Future Sparky leaves and present Sparky comes back from the Summer camps and various other teaching/babysitting jobs
1983- Sparky is upgraded to the QWERTY operating system along with the other robots
1986- Peter Walter VI is born and Sparky, still partially blaming her future self for the death of Peter Walter IV becomes protective of the child and doesn’t tell him her space stories that she heard secondhand from one of the people who met her future self
1996- Peter Walter VI is taken out of school because of bullying and homeschooled with the help of Sparky, Annie, Wanda, and anyone else who has the time and knows a thing or two. Sparky’s educational protocols are updated with up to date academic content from 1-12th grade, and an algorithm for continuous self updating as standard curriculum for the state of California changes
2006- Peter Walter VI wants to find out who originally created Sparky and lets her go in M mode for the first time in a while to try and figure it out. The clues- mainly a programmer’s signature deep in her code and the stories her future self told lead to Doctor Carmilla and her band of mechanically enhanced space pirates
2010- Sparky finds the band in London and starts a plan to alternate between spending time with the Mechanisms and with the Walter family. Sometimes due to time travel she will stay with the Mechanisms for 2,000 years and then come back 2 years before she left but she does her best to figure it out
2023- Sparky arrives back at Walter Manor and catches up with the robots and people about everything she’s missed. The robots prank her by convincing her there was another robot that got built while she was gone named Ralph
2024- Sparky attends the May 31st show to support her siblings. She brings a lollipop and three hand made and painted paper boats
Sparky attends the Skeleton Hoedown show with a friendly paint eating robot, and does up her faceplate nice and spooky for the occasion
2025- Sparky befriends a Becile Industries cyborg scientist and a very fast green matter robot…

1-Nensei Charenji - Mirai no Shougakkou Tanken (First Grader Challenge: Future Grade School Expedition)
In today's installment of "Otakween watches everything on MAL", I accidentally watched a 45 minute infomercial, yippee! So, for some backstory, this is on the "#" section of MAL that I'm currently going through but it isn't available anywhere on the internet. I actually ordered the DVD for like 100 yen on Mercari and just got it today. No subs, but it's for kindergarten/first graders so...no subs needed for me. Normally, I'd just skip over something I couldn't find for free, but I have a fascination with homeschooling and curriculum so I was excited to see what that was like in Japan. This is from a company that sends your young child a box in the mail with a bunch of educational materials (some of them remind me of Leapfrog/Leapster) as a regular subscription. Included in those boxes is DVDs like this one I guess. I thought this would just be like an ordinary kids show with some educational stuff baked in (like Dora or something) but nope! It was a full on commercial for the company -_- It kinda pissed me off cuz advertising to children like this is kinda gross. Anyway, full thoughts below! Happy I can check an obscure one of my list :D
Notes:
So the "plot" for this OVA was you have two "good" kids who use Benesse products to prep for first grade and three "lazy" kids who ain't doing squat to prepare. They all go to the future through some random magic artifact (very Doraemon-coded) and see their future selves in first grade. The good kids see how successful they are as first graders but the lazy kids see that they're going to turn into flops if they don't shape up. You see how insidious this is?? The whole plot of this special is "kids, if you don't use our products you'll be a failure in life!!" Gross. (Admittedly the toys look kinda fun tho lol).
Characters are bland and nothing to remark on. Again, the mascot character (Korasho?) is a total Doraemon knock off. He's supposed to be a living randoseru backpack, so that's kinda cute.
In addition to all of the ads I was bombarded with there are two songs on this disc that you can watch in either music video or karaoke mode. Not gonna lie, they're pretty good songs for little kids. One of them is about friendship and the other is about moving on from kindergarten to first grade (emotional)
The thing that made me laugh the most is that they have a (live action) music video of (I guess?) a real kindergarten graduation where they sing the second song mentioned above and it's like the most melodramatic thing I've ever seen. The parents are crying and the kids are crying while singing. They're just moving up one year get a grip!! (jk I'd probably cry if I was a parent). It wasn't really the crying that made me laugh but the fact that they kept zooming in on everyone that cried. Some kids/parents they didn't focus on just looked bored haha
The other (slightly) interesting thing on the disc was a brief message to the adult/parent viewer about first grade pedagogy. As you can imagine, this one was a little harder to understand, but I liked the part with the math teacher. He explained that it's not just important that students spit out answers, they have to tell you why that's the answer too. On a chalkboard he showed his students the different ways that people do mental math and that was neat.
Whelp! I got like 5 other DVDs this one (they came as a bundle) so hopefully they're on MAL. I give this a 4 outta 10 for being a sketchy ad aimed at children >:(

Agreed with most of headspace's comments above.
Personally, I was homeschooled for most of elementary & middle school, spent 8th grade at a private Baptist school after mom went back to work (and therefore couldn't stay home to teach me & my siblings anymore), and then went from there to the public high school.
The homeschooled portion of my education was amazing. Mom was very good at tailoring the curriculum, and we spent a lot of time at the library, or exploring, etc. Just endless curiosity and no fear of asking questions. True, the actual curriculum we were using had a certain slant but the implementation of that curriculum was mitigated by my parents' "ask questions & find sources" approach and had me well-prepared for independent study.
The private Baptist school was probably the single most damaging experience of my childhood (not that I recognized it at the time). It was very strict, with a gendered dress code, rules about cross-sex contact as young as kindergarten, mandatory chapel, and corporal punishment for infractions (or a round of pushups in the back hall if the teacher was the opposite sex). Being 13 years old, this fucked with my brain in ways I didn't consciously understand until I was an adult.
Going from there to public high school was a sensory disaster. I was mentally in a bad place for almost all of it, but I don't feel like the education system was at all bad. I was bored for most of it, granted, and my teachers didn't quite know what to do with me, but it was... fine. But yeah with all that under my belt I don't think it's as simple as homeschool vs. public school so much as the overall educational direction. Kids can be isolated and fail to learn critical information in any environment.

Show Me The Money
Customization, flexibility, and a child's ability to follow their own interests are touted as the great advantages of homeschooling, and so they are. But how is it achieved? To speak plainly, you get the best output with the best input, and that often costs money. It's how it is.
Perhaps you're tired of the constant fundraisers at your local public school. You're always forking over cash for another field trip, or keeping up with the latest sneaker trends teenagers have to have to impress their friends. It could be any number of things! But homeschooling will not save you any money; in fact, it usually costs you more.
If your student has a passion for music, are you able to buy or rent an instrument? Cover the cost of music lessons? Gas money or bus fare to those lessons?
If your students does exceptionally well and wants to advance, can you cover the cost of that? Or is that where his or her passion ends, and tough luck? If your student does poorly and loses interest, can you afford to swallow the cost with good grace? Your child will develop many different interests, some of which will be pursued successfully, and some of which will fall by the wayside. It's a normal part of their development, and you must consider your ability to support that. In a public school setting, they're exposed to many different areas and topics of interest, and are able to dabble with less expense to you. That financial safety net is lost to homeschooling parents.
Aside from financial expenses you might incur from typical extracurricular activities like sports teams and clubs, what amount are you prepared to invest in their most basic education? Reading, writing, and 'rithmetic can't all be taught with a notebook or Khan Academy. Purchasing a curriculum isn't the right fit for everyone, but if you do, remember you'll continue purchasing as they age and advance. If you mix and match educational resources instead, you can also expect to spend an increasing amount as subject matter grows in complexity and depth.
Can you cover the cost of all the basic school supplies year round? If your student advances beyond your expertise in a subject, or below your ability to teach, can you afford to bring in another person to tutor them? If they have a learning disability, do you have the resources to provide alternative learning tools in the home? What are you willing to pay for the customary enrichment opportunities, like museums, their public school peers are receiving? If you're not prepared to invest - literally, INVEST - at least a thousand dollars a year in your child, you should not homeschool.
A notebook and a pencil aren't going to cut it. Laura and Mary Ingalls may have shared a slate back in the day, but they were expected to can vegetables, not have basic coding experience. At the end of the day, how much are you ready, willing, and able to spend?

Why STEM Education is Important in Alaska Homeschool?
STEM is short for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. It is believed that any curriculum designed for young children must include all these four subjects. It can help unlock the child’s potential and improve their cognitive abilities.
If you want your Alaska homeschool child to embrace success in 21st century academic landscape, STEM is a must. There are several reasons why STEM can enable success and make your child learn better. Here are a few ones that will help you capture the essence.
1. It promotes necessary skills and knowledge that your child needs in the 21st Century. For instance, coding is an important aspect for job seekers. If you know how to build logic and create a solution from the challenge, you are taken. STEM helps the kids learn these essential skills that can help them find good colleges and take on great jobs
2. A key part of solving any challenge is planning it thoroughly. With STEM, your kids learn to plan their processes and identify how to move forth. They would set their priorities, identify the most needed solutions and organize the project accordingly. They would also know how to manage their time efficiently. These skills help them in the long run
3. When your child who is homeschooling in Alaska is presented with a challenge, they need to think. In some cases, they must plan creatively to define the answer. As a result, they are able to think more creatively and offer better responses. It all extends into creating the innovators or creators of tomorrow.
4. Imagine when the first idea doesn’t work. It makes you sad and disheartened. Children cannot move beyond their first ideas in most cases. With STEM challenges, they will learn to think beyond their first answer or success. As a result, this helps build their cognitive abilities and offers intuitive thinking abilities. They will always be ready with a plan B for their challenges
5. When you introduce STEM into your Alaska homeschool curriculum, you plan to introduce how team works. That’s why it is crucial to enhance this learning. The kids would learn the art of collaboration and know how to work things out. Moreover, you can support their collaborative abilities and help them learn better
6. STEM gives them an opportunity to unleash their leadership skills. They would know how to strategize, plan, execute and then evaluate their performance. Moreover, they would know when to delegate and what to work on. Moreover, they would have a complete understanding of team culture
7. As they face more real world problems in a simulated environment, they would know the actual challenges. Moreover, they would know how to think calmly and solve these issues. It will help you prepare your child for the actual challenges that the world will throw at them at any given chance.
8. Lastly, adding STEM to homeschooling in Alaska curriculum can help boost their critical thinking abilities. They would have an answer to all questions with this ability. At least they would strive hard to find the right answer.

Customized Training: Tailoring Education to Your Needs
Hey there, high schoolers! 🎓 Have you ever wished that your education could be more personalized? Maybe you're interested in a subject your school doesn't offer, or you want to learn at your own pace. Well, you're in luck! In this blog post, we're going to explore the world of customized training and how it can benefit students just like you. So, let's dive in and discover how you can take your education to the next level.
What is Customized Training?
Customized training, also known as personalized learning, is an educational approach that's all about tailoring your learning experience to match your unique needs, interests, and abilities. Instead of following a one-size-fits-all curriculum, Customised Training allows you to have a say in what and how you learn.

How Does Customized Training Work?
1. Individualized Learning Plans
With customized training, you get your very own learning plan. This plan is like a roadmap for your education. It's designed to help you reach your goals and learn at your own pace. You and your teachers work together to create this plan, ensuring that it aligns with your interests and needs.
2. Flexible Curriculum
Say goodbye to rigid lesson plans that don't spark your curiosity. In customized training, you can explore subjects that genuinely interest you. Whether it's coding, art, music, or a niche topic, you have the freedom to dive deep into what you love.
3. Personalized Support
Your teachers become your partners in learning. They provide one-on-one guidance, answer your questions, and offer feedback tailored to your progress. This personalized support ensures that you understand the material thoroughly.
Benefits of Customized Training
Customized training offers several advantages for high school students:
1. Greater Engagement

I would like to wish you an amazing new year Raven ! And I would also like to start it by requesting headcanons. Could you write about Idia and Azul homeschooling their kids (who are elementary schoolers)?
Curiouser and Curiouser...
Idia’s initially kind of awful at homeschooling. The thing with him is, he thinks so highly of himself and his own intellect that he doesn’t think others can “get on his level” and, as a result, he puts little effort into properly explaining things. Idia’s mindset going in is, “I already understand it, so you need to get it easily too. If you don’t, then that’s your problem, not mine.”
He eventually wises up and resorts to using what he knows best--technology--to assist in teaching his child. It’s easy for Idia to whip up an algorithm that will write the perfect, well-rounded curriculum and recommend the optimal lesson structure to suit their needs.
Idia doesn’t really like to lecture, he usually just lets his kid do self-directed studying based on whatever material is appropriate for their age and general IQ and skill. (... You’ll find Idia lurking by the doorway and nervously watching his child to make sure they’re doing alright on their own.)
He often supplements their learning with additional materials (and by “additional materials”, I mean Idia recommends anime and manga that are somewhat related to what they’re learning. Here’s a light novel about wolf girl and a merchant teaching commerce and economics!! And here’s an anime about famous historical figures fighting each other for a holy grail!)
Sometimes Idia will plop down with an educational CD rom for his child for play. It could be a typing game to show them how to type in home row, or maybe it’s a trivia hunt where the player explores a virtual Twisted Wonderland to learn about its geography and various cultures! Idia used to play these games himself when he was their age, and he feels proud in knowing that he’s passing on such great works of art to future generations to appreciate.
The greatest downfall of Idia’s homeschooling is the lack of real-world experiences. Idia himself doesn’t see the point in going out into the world and interacting with it or socializing with other people, so he doesn’t ever take his lessons outside of the home. Instead, he focuses on showing his kid how to do as many things as possible on a computer—navigating the web, staying safe on social media, gaming, coding, shopping, hacking, etc.
“Hihihi!! Everything these days can easily be done online! The world and all its information is at your fingertips if you know how to play with it. Pretty OP, right? ... Y-You may be a level 1 novice now, but if you keep accumulating EXP, you’ll be able to evolve into your final form and join me in the Leader Boards before you know it.”
While Azul believes there is value in every subject, his teaching places a particular emphasis is both on practical life skills and critical thinking. After all, “Knowledge has no purpose if you don’t understand how to properly wield it,” as he often tells his child.
He’s a firm advocate in keeping one’s skills sharp--and that means plenty of studying, practice, and homework to apply what they’ve learned in the classroom to real scenarios! There will be space for his kid to breathe of course, but there won’t be a day where they won’t be challenged. How else are they going to learn and improve? Certainly not by being handed easy questions or busywork!
Azul puts forth the effort to throw together structured lessons and reference materials (study guides included!), sometimes working late into the night, long after work hours. If they’re in need of his personal assistance, he’ll sit and walk them through a chapter point by point. There are, however, times when Azul outright refuses to help (particularly if he believes they’re close to solving the problem by themselves). He doesn’t want his child to become completely reliant on him; they should have the confidence to think and act for themselves.
Azul’s exams and quizzes never lift questions directly from textbooks or ask for simple facts to be recalled; they tend to ask for already existing information to be used to synthesize an answer or to come to a new conclusion. He may even ask his kid to defend their response for bonus points--because knowing how to keep cool under pressure and how to locate loopholes in logic are essential skills.
Azul stresses the benefits of self-care. When you study hard, you should also take the time to take care of yourself. Have a healthy snack, count some cash, play or listen to a song, wade in the water... Whatever will calm your mind! Nothing good can come out of acting out of stress--and what’s more, you’re much more likely to make a faulty call.
Knowing how to socialize is just as important as being book smart! Besides teaching them basic manners, Azul will demonstrate how to barter and worm out of sticky situations--then he’ll take his child by the hand and take them for an outing to see if they can do the same.
“Remember now, little one: play dirty with others if you wish, but you must be honest in bettering yourself. An arsenal of spells, a repertoire of tricks and knowledge... Those are things that you and you alone can hone. No amount of cheating will lead to results if you lie to yourself.”

Made For This
Fandom: Quantum Leap (2022) POV: Ian Wright
Summary: In hindsight, Ian's entire life had led up to working for Quantum Leap.

~~*———————————————*~~
Coding was always Ian’s solace. Right back to Coding Club in high school, just them and a handful of other kids learning Python instead of spending too much money at the mall, or… whatever kids that age did when they were normal.
Ian didn’t know and didn’t care, because Ian wasn’t normal.
They were diagnosed with ADHD at seven years old. Trying to keep them in one place when there were books at the other end of the room was near-enough impossible and by the time they reached middle school they'd basically taught themself the whole curriculum ahead of time. Genius wasn't a term they liked to use, at least back then. They didn't want to be heralded as some kid prodigy, they just wanted to sit at their computer and figure out how to make it play Minecraft by itself.
Being queer didn't help with that. Attention usually meant trouble, and Ian preferred to stay far, far away from trouble as a kid. So far, in fact, that their first successful coding project involved creating an algorithm that would tell them the safest likely route to and from school every day.
That turned into... a bit of a compulsion. Sooner than later Ian found themself unable to even leave the house if they hadn't checked their algorithm. One morning there was a power cut and they had a full-on meltdown, screaming, crying, smashing things-.. it was ugly.
At first it was just a routine. Mom called it their "little quirks". They'd always been that way, needing a certain order to things; a rightness. Unfortunately the Autism they found out that was down to presented closer to how it did in AFABs (gender affirmed?), so that didn't get caught until they'd already been homeschooled for the rest of High School and were well into college.
Thing is, it didn't stay routine. It became kind of a compulsion. Everything in their life had to have an algorithm; every little possibility had to be accounted for because what if it wasn't? There was a point midway though college that they were consulting statistics and algorithms for basically everything, convinced some kind of disaster would happen if they didn't.
They were skinny, weak and greasy by the time they finished their degree, accepting their PhD with their hair and makeup only done because their friends had wrangled and all but made them accept their help. Then Rachel all but made them go to therapy.
Things had calmed down, since then. Ian had coping strategies that didn't take up all their time, they were able to do things on a whim again, go shopping, go on dates, even get a job. A miserable, boring desk job as a data analyst where they didn't dare tell anyone their real pronouns, but a job was a job, right?
It was there that Magic had found them.
"Dr Wright, correct?"
"Who's asking?" they quipped, spinning on their chair to flash him a smile. This guy didn't belong here -- they could tell that immediately and not just from his visitor's pass. He held himself with a specific kind of professionalism and clean-cut carefulness that people in IT just-.. didn't have.
"Herbert Williams-- but please, call me Magic." His grin was polite, welcoming... Ian knew that grin. They were about to be poached. "I'm putting together a team of talented individuals and I want you to sign up."
"Right to the point, okay, uh-.." Ian blinked at the man's bluntness. "What-.. wahat's the job?"
"You'll be working as head programmer on a government project. The rest is classified."
"That-.. okay." If they couldn't see his credentials right there on his pass, they'd think this was suspicious as all hell. It was suspicious as all hell. They looked around their office, chewing thoughtfully at their lip. God, what they wouldn't give for another algorithm right now, but-.. what did they really have to lose? "Why me?"
Magic raised a brow, "Ian -- can I call you Ian? You graduated with honors in a University course you barely studied for. Before you were fourteen years old you could read and write fluently in a programming language I'd never heard of."
"Python is actually one of the most commonly used--"
"Young man, you have about half a dozen algorithms running right now to predict areas of your life you aren't even living yet, am I right?"
"...How did you-.." Government. Right.
"How would you like to put that talent into something that could change the world?"
For the first time in their life, Ian didn't think twice. In hindsight, maybe this was why they survived their childhood; the reason they could keep going for so long. Their entire life had led up to this.
"Uh-.. Magic? Just one thing," they tried, breathing away the anxiety beating in their chest.
"Anything you want."
"It's-.. young person. My-.. my pronouns are they/them."
Magic smiled and nodded, "Welcome aboard, Dr. Wright."
